Kit payments are requested in the form of a Standing Order, although we can also issue Paypal invoices but with the increasing overheads of Paypal the first option is preferred.
There has been confusion in the past with how Standing Orders operate so a brief explanation is below:

Standing orders are customers’ instructions to their bank to pay a set amount, to a name beneficiary, at regular intervals—either for a specific period or until cancelled.
A Direct Debit is a customer’s authority for beneficiaries to claim payments (variable in amount and frequency) from the customer’s account and customers’ instructions to their bank to allow the taking of those payments. A standing order requires the customer’s bank to send the money.

In short YOU control a standing order and it is your responsibility to make sure it is set up correctly. It is also down to each member to stop the standing order once membership has ceased. With a Standing Order, customers need to give their bank new instructions each time a change is needed.
